In the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. One of only five places in the world to obtain dark sky reserve status the Brecon Beacons is the ideal place to observe the night sky.
The Brecon Beacons National Park is one of the darkest areas in Wales to observe the night sky. Awarded the International Dark Sky Association’s coveted “Dark Sky Reserve” award in 2013, the park’s 530 square miles offer a huge array of activities from fine dining to pony trekking, from leisurely hikes to climbing the highest peaks in southern Britain and from lazy picnics to enjoying the crisp night sky.
