The Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature Winner Announced

The Boardman Tasker Awards 2017
The Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature Shortlist Announced
This year there were 34 entries, from Great Britain, the USA, Canada, Italy and France.
The judges for 2017 are Helen Mort (Chair), Peter Gillman and Kate Moorehead.

They have selected the following six books for this year’s shortlist:

TOMMY CALDWELL – THE PUSH
ROB COLLISTER – DAYS TO REMEMBER
ED DOUGLAS – THE MAGICIAN’S GLASS
ERHARD LORETAN & JEAN AMMANN – NIGHT NAKED
BERNADETTE MCDONALD – ART OF FREEDOM
CHRISTOPHER NICHOLSON – AMONG THE SUMMER SNOWS
The Award will be made at the Boardman Tasker event at the Kendal Mountain Festival, on Friday November 17th 2017.

Submissions Boardman Tasker Awards 2017

Established in 1983 to commemorate the lives of Peter Boardman and Joe Tasker, the Boardman Tasker Charitable Trust celebrates their legacy by awarding the annual Award for Mountain Literature and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature is awarded annually to the author or authors of the best literary work,whether fiction, non-fiction, drama or poetry, the central theme of which is concerned with the mountain environment- Boardman Tasker Awards.

Shortlist will be announced soon
The judges will announce their decision at the Award ceremony to be held on Friday 17th November 2017 at the Kendal Mountain Festival.
