Rohantime 2009 Dunster

Following on from the success of our Lake District Celebration Weekend in February we’re putting on a second event, this time based in Dunster, the Gateway to Exmoor.

It’s all going to be happening over the weekend of Friday 10th July to Sunday 12th July.

The weekend is going to take place in the beautiful grounds of Dunster Castle. As you’d expect, we’re planning an exciting and varied programme of events including guided walks, mountain biking, castle tours, archery, a heritage steam railway trip, great live music and, of course, great company!

Everest balloonist and adventurer Leo Dickinson will be joining us for a talk and, if the weather conditions are right, he’ll be bringing a balloon along for static flights. Expert photographer, naturalist and friend of Rohan, John Beatty, will be there too – he’s planning to follow up his fascinating talk in the Lakes and share with you some brand new material.

We’re going to be laying on a choice of accommodation. Sure to be popular is our ‘camping village’ – which is guaranteed to offer all the fun and spirit of camping in your youth, without the hard work – we’ll be putting the tents and equipment up for you! For those who prefer bricks and mortar, we’ll be offering some great deals on local hotels. And, if you’re lucky enough to live in the area and don’t need accommodation, we’ll be offering passes to the events only.

Sounds great – how do I book?

There’s sure to be alot of interest in the Dunster weekend so, to be fair to everybody, we’re going to be running an online booking system. The web address is www.rohanevents.co.uk/dunster book online today.

It’s going to be first-come, first-served, so it might be worth jotting that date down in your diary!

How to I keep up to date?

We’re going to be posting regular updates right here on Rohantime. So keep checking back. As soon as individual talks, events, activities and bands are confirmed, we’ll put a post up on Rohantime.

Rohantime 2009 at Dunster is going to be a great opportunity to enjoy a fantastic weekend in the company of like-minded individuals. And we’d really love you to come! Look forward to hearing from you.

And remember the bookings system goes live on Wednesday 3 June at www.rohanevents.co.uk/dunster

    Dear Peter,
Sorry we can not accept own camping. We have a relatively small site and an incredibly short set up time to get all the facilities in place.
We have set up pre-erected tents to allow us control of space & time! Essential in this sort of event.
However what you can do is book a hospitality pass & camp nearby – there are plenty of good sites in the area. The camping & caravanning website might help. http://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk
We hope to see you in Dunster.

Great to see another event being planned, I enjoyed the Lakes one very much using it as training and to test all my Rohan gear for my 8 week Himalayan trek.
Can I ask if it will be possible to camp at the event using my own tent and sleep gear – I need to make sure it all still works now and again!
Great idea guys, a fine way to bring us Rohan connoisseurs together.
