Bank Holiday weekend and the sun is shining! By happy coincidence our Summer Essentials is also running this weekend. With 20% off selected lines what better time to pop in and pick up some shorts and short sleeved tops for the summer?

Very excited person here, all being well himself has booked tickets for Chelsea Flower Show today. I haven’t been for about 25 years, himself a little longer in fact he exhibited there a couple of times. Now the big question would normally be…..What do I wear? Thankfully our Linen range answers that question easily. Well I say easily, do I want to wear the Tunis Trousers and Malay Jacket, Malay Dress or the Tunis Dress? No matter which garment I choose, I can be assured to arrive looking and feeling smart and relaxed ready to enjoy the day. Himself, well that’s easy. Maroc Trousers, Zephyr shirt. Perfect. If you haven’t tried our Linen range now is the time, you won’t be dissappointed!

Well after a glorious day yesterday we are back to showers today. Not to worry though, we have plenty of lightweight waterpoofs in stock for when those heavy downpours put in an appearance. At home or abroad showers seem to be the order of the day so why not pop in and try one just in case!

Bakewell will once again be full of exciting events and activities. Chatsworth Horse Trials take place this weekend along with an interesting new event up at Lady Manners School in Bakewell.

For the very first time they will be holding an Arts & Crafts weekend showcasing local talent from the Peak District. Pop along for inspiration then stroll down the road and pop into Rohan Bakewell.

The Bluebells in and around the area are fantastic this year so why not take the time to wander through the local area and admire the beauty on our doorstep. Whilst you’re instore we’ll happily let you know some of our favourite areas to visit.

Have you received your newsletter asking ‘What will you do with 18 hours of sunshine’? What did I do? Well I decided to decorate! What I hear you ask has this got to do with Rohan? Two things really, firstly I decided to wear my old faithfuls (anyone who has seen me armed with a pot of paint and a roller will know that this means one thing) you know the ones, we’ve all got them, they’re not quite good enough for certain things but you just don’t want to part with them. As you can imagine they are now covered in paint, therefore I have a gap in my wardrobe which I will just have to find a new Rohan faithful to fill! I’m torn I quite like the new Strata top, but which colour?

Secondly, now the decorating is done I can concentrate on some of the ideas in the newsletter. I haven’t tried sailing perhaps that might be next, best make sure my Pacer Capris are ready to go!

Sunshine and showers here in Bakewell today. Spring has definitely arrived, Chatsworth House & Haddon Hall are welcoming visitors again. Thornbridge Hall is opening its grounds this year, not everyday so watch out for this hidden gem! For anyone who has wandered along the Monsal Trail you will no doubt have passed through the long disused platform at Thornbridge, why not see how they’re bringing to life the grounds.

Speaking of hidden gems, Rohan Bakewell can be found just off the Rutland Square where you will find plenty to tempt. The new luggage range has arrived, so whether you need a small daybag, a full blown case or something in between pop in and have a look. I’m rather tempted by the new Stowaway Daypack 18, it’s perfect!
