Cycling UK has just announce the launch of the Big Bike Revival in England and Scotland.
The Big Bike Revival is an award-winning programme developed by Cycling UK designed to encourage thousands of people to cycle for leisure and every day journeys. Now in its second year in Scotland and its fourth in England, the Big Bike Revival helps people to bring their bikes back into use by providing bike health checks, sharing maintenance know how and giving people more confidence in the saddle.

Partnered by Halfords, community groups and bike recycling centres, the project aims to encourage and inspire thousands of people to get on their bikes again or cycle for the first time.

Last year, Cycling UK saw a huge increase in the number of people who took up cycling as a result of the Big Bike Revival after reaching nearly 25,000 beneficiaries in England and 8,000 beneficiaries in Scotland. The charity hopes to increase those figures this year.

Hundreds of Big Bike Revival events will again take place across England and Scotland from 29 April – 11 June, offering everything from puncture repair workshops, basic bike maintenance and led rides to cycle health checks, cycle skills sessions and route planning – all of them free to access.

In addition, community cycle clubs will be set up across the country, offering training and support for volunteers to develop their own social cycling activities and rides in local communities.
