Store Location - We have been on Lake Road since 1988, the first shop was no 16. The current location, 14-16 Lake Road, since 2003. Lake Road is aptly named being only a 5 minute walk to the shores of Derwentwater. Keswick offers an ample amount of car parking, the nearest to our store is Central car park.There is a bus station next to Booths supermarket, which is a 3 minute walk, and it can offer an open topped bus down the Borrowdale Valley if you wish (weather permitting!)

Staff Recommendations – Directly opposite, in our stores old location, there is now a delicatessen called Pumpkin that has become a firm favourite with us. It offers anything from a smoothie to freshly baked bread. It has also featured in Lonely Planet as the editor’s choice.
Next door to us, Treeby and Bolton gallery, which also has a coffee shop/cafe, has been accepted into the top 100 coffee shops in the UK. We seem to be spoiled for choice!
Real ale lovers should go to the Dog and Gun, also situated on Lake Road and for good quality pub grub, the George Hotel, on St John’s St takes some beating!
Local Knowledge – Keswick is widely considered to the Outdoor Pursuits capital of England. Sitting at the North end of Derwentwater, among the stunning Lakeland Fells, Keswick is a perfect base for all those venturing into the great outdoors.
Just as Rohan clothing offers a great amount of versatility on a wide range of activities – Keswick’s fells offer a wide range of choice for different levels of skill and ability. From a leisurely stroll around the Lake, to Latrigg (which offers disabled access) to Skiddaw’s 3053ft summit!
As well as walking, just about every other outdoor pursuit can be catered for in and around Keswick. You can go rock climbing (indoor or outdoor), mountain biking/cycling, all manner of water sports or challenge yourself at the country’s only via Ferrata, which is situated at Honister slate mines.
For those of you coming to Keswick that are interested in the wildlife, you’ll be pleased to know that the Osprey’s have returned to Bassenthwaite Lake to nest again this year and have done so since 2001. There is a bus to take you to the Osprey viewing point and a café waiting for you at Dodd wood when you’re ready for a cuppa!
When next visiting Keswick, remember to take some time to explore the town, for such a small one it offers a great deal! We have several museums and gallery’s including the pencil factory, a traditional cinema and the fantastic Theatre by the Lake. The Theatre by the Lake must have the best location in the country, idyllically situated at the Lakeside, offering views of Derwentwater, Borrowdale and the Western Fells. The tourist information, which is located in the historic Moot Hall in the centre of town not only offers the usual information, it also offers regular local art and photography exhibitions.

A beautiful sunny day in Keswick at Easter… not often we can say that! But we can today. Hope you are enjoying your day whatever you are doing.
We would like to say a massive thank you to each and every customer that donated, big and small, to Gift Your Gear.
It was a fantastic success, in total there were 270 items! 121 garments were non-rohan and 149 were Rohan branded, which meant we had the highest number of garments donated.
Included in the garments were several items over 20 years old including 2 Shearwater Jackets which date back to 1992 and several pairs of bags and winter bags.
I hope we will be able to run Gift Your Gear again in the future and hopefully you will all root through those wardrobes…again!

There are so many new Spring Summer lines in store its hard not to get a little excited about trying it on and testing it out. So far the favourite garment with us girls is the new Sanctuary Shirt – a great all rounder, good looks and hard as nails. Pop in to see what all the fuss is about!
All roads in and around Keswick are now open as normal. The roadworks finished ahead of schedule and in time for Half Term
If you’re visiting Keswick in the next 8 weeks, please don’t be put off by the very confusing diversion signs. The road is closed at the Rawnsley Centre so if you need to get into the town centre, they are asking drivers to come into Keswick from the A66. All car parks are open on both sides of the road closure and pedestrian access is unaffected. If you are heading our way, please give us a call if you need any other information. We are open for business are normal!

If you’re looking for a good excuse to come up to the Lakes (not that we think you need an excuse!), why not take part in Keswick’s 13th Film Festival.
There are 30 UK and International films to choose from this year along with special guest, John Hurt, who will be introducing some of the films.
