How Can We Keep Helping The People of Nepal?

Mount Everest or Mount Chomolungma 8,848 metres (29,029 ft).

There has been a fantastic response amongst the grassroots outdoor community to help the people of Nepal. This has been expressed in individual and collective efforts to raise funds and collect outdoor gear.

We thought it might help to create a list of events, collective and individual efforts and news directly related to helping the people of Nepal. If you know of events, organisations and people  in your area trying to help please add the details in the comments box below. We are trying to create a list of fundraising events in the UK for the people of Nepal.

BMC  – Lend a hand: donate unique items to BMC eBay auction for Nepal. The BMC is calling on mountaineers and the wider outdoor community to pledge items for an exciting charity auction to raise funds for the people of Nepal. Sir Chris Bonington, Doug Scott CBE, Kenton Cool, Alan Hinkes OBE and Rebecca Stephens MBE have already pledged unique memorabilia from their Everest expeditions. The auction will be held on eBay. Proceeds will go to Community Action Nepal, with some items also going to help the Paldorje Sherpa Education Fund.     I’m not too sure if they are doing any work in Nepal but; REDR are an organisation that trains people for NGO work & relief work if anyone has an interest in taking direct action.
    Hope this is of some use.
