Rohan in Betws y Coed – Gift Your Gear Helps Hope Restored

Rohan in Betws y Coed and Gift Your Gear helps Hope Restored Llandudno

The last Gift Your Gear collection of donated outdoor gear in all the Rohan Shops made it possible for Gift Your Gear to help over 70 new beneficiaries.

Because of the amazing diversity of the gear donated, Gift Your Gear was able to supply some of the super warm jackets, not suitable of mountain use, to a charity suggested by Rohan in Betws y Coed.

Charly from Rohan Betws y Coed delivered the donated outdoor gear to Brenda Hewitt at Hope Restored in Llandudno and learnt more about their work. She told Rohantime…

Brenda Hewitt Hope Restored Llanduno

“I delivered the boxes of Gift Your Gear donations to Brenda Hewitt of Hope Restored in Llandudno.

What an incredible lady!

She is lovely and so passionate and caring towards her group of homeless people. She was once homeless herself with two small children so she really understands what it is like to sleep rough. Many of the homeless people sleep in caves on the Great Orme. She often goes out late at night to the sea front at Llandudno to see if anyone needs help.

Her aim is to provide a place where the homeless can come and eat two hot meals a week. Not just sandwiches and crisps. She feels life is a bit more bearable with two hot meals when you are sleeping outside. Brenda also provides as much warm clothing as possible and tents. She was very appreciative of the boxes from Rohan and was really excited to give her homeless charges some warm clothing!  All the food she provides is donated.

It was so very humbling meeting her!

I am going to encourage my children to bake a cake once a week that I will drop off to the Church. I really hope Rohan can help her out again”. – Charly – Rohan Betws y Coed

We will be talking about all the beneficiaries and the donated outdoor gear in the next few months on Rohantime.
