News from Rohan Cheltenham: Winchcombe Cotswolds Walking Festival Friday 15th to Sunday 17th May 2015 – Cotswolds Tourism Awards 2015 Silver award winner ‘Tourism Event of the Year’
Winchcombe Walking Festival is an annual 3-day event every May, offering a selection of walks and events every day to suit different abilities. It is organised by the Winchcombe Walkers are Welcome group and won an award in its first year (2010) as the best new small event in the Cotswolds.
Winchcombe is situated in the heart of the Cotswolds 8 miles north of Cheltenham and has “Walkers are Welcome” status. The town is served by many footpaths coming off the hills and five long distance trails pass through the town including the Cotswold Way National Trail
The walks are led by knowledgeable walk leaders and graded from easy, moderate to strenuous a typical comment from a festival walker ” I like the way you make the walk extra interesting by visiting things we come to on the walk and telling us about the history and natural history.

|Details||Transport to Littleworth Wood, the first of three woods spread across the Cotswold scarp interspersed with glorious views. Each has a very different history and management resulting in varied flora and fauna. The warden of one of the woods will show us some of the flora and explain the various conservation and management techniques in use today.
