Rohan Icepack Jacket – Customer Review
I love this jacket. I use it every morning to walk the dogs. I wear it all the time for cycling, hill walking, skiing, shopping, traveling even the school run. I reach for it every time in preference to all my other jackets it goes with me everywhere,… comfortable, lightweight and surprisingly warm without being bulky
Ideal for traveling the Icepack jacket packs nice and small into its own pocket, it’s light weight to wear and low bulk to carry in a day pack it also makes a great inflight pillow. On a recent skiing trip to New Zealand it was my constant companion and functioned as both a mid layer under a waterproof jacket and as a windproof outer that had no problems repelling quite heavy summer showers and wet snow, pushed by strong winds. The fleece in the zipped pockets helps to keep your hands warm and the big zip pulls make opening the pockets with ski gloves very easy, minimal elasticated cuffs keep the bulk down and ensure you don’t end up with soggy cuffs.
The outer is polyamide (nylon) treated with DWR and the filling is Insuloft a synthetic insulation which stays warm even if it gets wet - unlike my previous down jacket – this makes it ideal for the cool wet conditions of a typical British autumn/winter.
It’s easy to wash, dries quickly and doesn’t need any special care.
It seems to be perfect for just about everything I do, as a top outer layer when it’s cool with a Superfine Merino underneath and worn underneath a Cloudcover jacket when it’s cold and wet. I bought the nightshade colour and couldn’t be happier with the fit. I am thinking I might have to get another one. I only wish there were more colours especially some brights.
A versatile jacket for all types of weather, highly recommend – Jac.
