Many Rohanists will know Victoria from Rohan Keswick. She talked about her Basenji Hound and her trip to Crufts in Rohan Crufts last year. She has kindly updated us on her recent activities with her Basenjis which this year so far have taken her all over the UK and to Finland, giving her she has first hand experience of using Rohan clothing for her trips. This is her recent story
2011 brought another four legged addition to the family. ‘Sunny’, my keeper from Elsa’s second litter.
Naturally, a new puppy required a new show outfit (any excuse) and the new Linen Plus Suit fitted the bill. As you can imagine, I was very happy to see the return of the Linen Plus Range again this year with a great new colour way in oyster stripe. The jacket is a very practical length with plenty of pockets and additional detail. Best of all it is highly crease resistant, even after along car journey. Teamed with a Leeway Tee and Vest, Rapid and Basis Tee’s it gives me plenty of colour way options.
Striders, the Globtrotter Mac and Parche Shoes are all part of my wet weather/winter snow outfits. Striders are without doubt, the most comfortable trousers in the world allowing complete freedom of movement. Having been re designed they are smart enough to wear without a suit jacket while retaining all the technical benefits you expect from a Rohan garment.
The Jeans Plus have become one of my favourites and a “don’t leave home without them”. They are lightweight, non iron, quick drying, stretchy and come in two different styles and colours. What more could you ask for?
Feeling very brave (or stupid ) this year I decided to take all three Basenjis to Crufts. The Rapid T was my Rohan item of choice for the day. I really put it through its paces and it did not disappoint. With the addition of Polygene this year it kept me dry, comfortable and odour free all day.
At the beginning of June this year, I made a short trip to Finland to a Basentji Speciality Club Show. Unusually, I was just spectating and not exhibiting. My Jeans Plus, Rapid T’s and Linen Plus saw me through the weekend. I also took my Windshaddow Mac with me. The first “Windshaddow” garment that I have owned. I have to say that I was very impressed with it’s performance. It saw the occasional shower whilst I was there, but protected me from torrential downpour at Heathrow. It’s packability made it am essential for my city break and it is now one of my favourite bits of kit. Anyway , the trip proved to be very productive and as a result we are hoping to add a “little girl” next year – Victoria
