Rohan’s 21st in the Lakes

lowwoodRohan’s 21 years in the Lakes Celebration Weekend was a tremendous success. Fri 27 Feb – Sun 01 March 2009.
A big thank you to every body that took the time to attend.
It was great to see so many old friends and make new ones.

The Low Wood Hotel proved a wonderful venue and managed to accommodate all of us in great style. The weather well what can you say it was The Lakes in February. Then again the Lakes  are magnificent whatever the weather. I can’t remember the last time I saw so many people wearing Rohan in one place. The evenings entertainment on both nights was very well attended and appreciated.

Peter Cairns on Friday. John Beatty and David Bellamy both on Saturday never failing to entertain. Saturday evening ended with a dinner and the ceilidh with The Old Dance School Band. Sarah and Tim thank all who turned up at the gear clinics especially those the brought with them such wonderful examples of early Rohan clothing. Great memories. All trips walks and climbs where fully subscribed. As the whole weekend was actually about the opening of the first Rohan Lake District shop. its not surprising that many of us found ourselves in the shops at some point over the weekend. Both Ben Evans and his team in the Lakes – it was the Evans family that started the Rohan journey in the Lakes and Craig and his team in Ambleside where kept going all weekend meeting and greeting.

Just a few photos from the weekend. If you have any that you would like to share I would love to see them

I’ve heard great things about the Rohan Lakes Weekend are you planning to do anymore? Unfortunately due to work commitments I couldn’t attend the Weekend.

Ann and I had a wonderful weekend at Low Wood Hotel, even though we had to call it a day as far as the Ceilidh went, to which we were really looking forward – but too full of good food! We would like to think that the event was so successful that ROHAN will consider a repeat. Any chance of this? Next time I might even wear my 1983 Jekyll and Hyde, rather than keep them in a suitcase!

21 years in the Lakes great but I am still wearing Bags I bought in Long Preston in the early eighties. A bit the worst for wear but still going strong. A bit like me.

Nice to see a company engaging with their customers and putting them first. Most companies don’t want to know you once you have parted with your money and left the shop. A very pleasant change.

I could only manage a day in the Lakes but really enjoyed it. It was nice to meet up with old friends. Will you be doing any more?
