Mine aren't museum pieces, and they still fit me... but my shocking pink Bags Shorts are, right at this moment, a bit surplus to seasonal requirement so I'll be loaning them to Ben until the summer...

Among my many items of Rohan gear, I, too, have a pair of light grey bags and a grey Wild Vest with gold lining. I wish they still matched but unfortunately the bags have been washed many more times than the vest and are now several shades lighter. At least they're both still wearable!
'Moving On' was the name of the magazine - I still have issues 1, 2 & 4 (1994/95).

Hi Colin
I'm afraid you are going to have to remind me what your comments were about your Superstriders-it seems like i may have offended you?

I do wish I would read my messages and check the sense before pressing the submit box. My comment on kit should have read "You never know how good your kit need be until you need to know!" Mea culpa.

To Rohantime

Sadly I don't think my comments about the original Rohan Superstrider Breeks I was wearing when I called on Ben Evans got through. Pity as they are still wearing well and looking smart. Ben spotted them as soon as I walked in the door at Keswick and we had a good chat about his collection. The old kit prompted many memories!!

An old Army PTI used to say "You never know how fit you need to be until you need to know!" I wish I knew how I could summarise this for a forum strapline as it is the same in the mountains. "You never how good your kit need be until you need to know!" For the Forum strap it could be something like "Rohantime - when you really need to know!"

Anyway best wishes from Aberdeenshire.

Hi Peter
Thank you for getting in touch.
Unfortunately I do not have your MK 1 Pampas you traded at Manchester. I assume you did this 4 years ago when Rohan produced a range of 'Blue Label' garments to celebrate their 30th anniversary? I can only assume your Pampas was sent back to Head Office where Tim Jasper will be safekeeping it.
As far as the Dunova Scarf goes, i have not got one of these and would love to have one- if you want to give it a good home!
All the best

Hello Ben, I wonder if you've got my mark 1 Pampas jacket that I traded in at the Manchester shop for a half price later version?
I've got a Rohan short scarf made of Dunova in a rust colour. Have you got one of those in your collection?

Regards,
Peter

I have a pair of Bags in a sort of terracotta red, I have a pair of shorts as well. They were /are my favourite colour, not that they have been done again the Morrocan red is the only thing since that is close. Now they are so worn that my wife refuses to let me wear them - they have no holes just gone thin, like me, with old age. I wish they did this colour again then I'd buy enough to wear til i die!!!! But sorry not parting with them for the wall!

Hi Lilian
Maybe you could send me your two Rohan garments, or if your passing the shop please drop them in. The strange pale green Bags sound like a colour called 'Lovat' which is one of the colours needed to add to the collection.
Many thanks, Ben

Hi Paul
Yes your right-these are not museum pieces. Most of the Bags have been kindly donated by people who have outgrown them and therefore no longer used. Rest assured they will all be donated to charity in due course.
