Hi Bruce
Going back to the Rohan Spring/Summer Catalogue of 1991 the 'Movi' and 'Shamal' appear as 'new this season'.

The 'Movi' was priced at £52 and in 4 colourways in 1991-(though the colour you have was produced in 1992 and is Blue/Jade -the jokes of "have you got a blue movi?" are still childishly funny today!) To quote from the catalogue' A new over the head windproof top. The Movi is an intermediate layer based on the Moving On but with improved design features. On its own,the Movi can be worn as a shirt for everyday wear or as a windproof top for cycling or running. In breezy, dry weather the new raglan sleeves are roomy enough to wear over a fleece or a shirt.Altogether an exceptionally versatile garment with colours to suit every taste'.
The fabric was Airlight-50% Cotton 50% Polyester i.e Bags fabric
The Movi is one of a number of lightweight over the head designs since the early 80's through to the present day Goa Top.

The 'Shamal' was priced at £95 in 4 colourways-yours is Graphite/Amethyst.The fabric was Micro-tex which was the one of the first nylon microfibre garment Rohan produced. To quote from the catalogue 'A mid-length jacket for all activities made from Micro-Tex with incredible windproof and comfort qualities. The Shamal can be zipped onto the Erebus Fleece Jacket, extending its use into cold weather'.

Hope this helps

The name of the garment is the 'Three Seasons Jacket'.
This was produced in 1993 in 3 colorways (the one pictured is deep purple/graphite) at £89. To quote from the New Products March 1993 Rohan Catalogue-'The Three Seasons Jacket is a mesh lined microfibre jacket designed for active use.It can be used for hill walking, travelling, casual use or a cold weather jacket layered over a fleece'.

Hi Bruce
Great to see you are working on a heritage section. We have had a fantastic reaction to our Rohan Originals collection.
I would be happy to give you any more info on the 3 garments pictured in your article (including the name of the mystery garment) if no one else on Rohantime can provide this for you
Regards
Ben @ Rohan Keswick (Rohan 'collector/geek!' for 23 years)
