I am still a relative ‘newbie’ in terms of Rohan staff. I have been working in the Keswick branch since September last year, although I have been wearing Rohan clothing for the last six or seven years.
I have had dogs in varying shapes and forms most of my life and always enjoyed the outdoors (it’s hard not to-living here!). Four and a half years ago I bought myself my first ‘show dog’ – a Basenji Hound. Exhibiting takes me all over the country, and we’ve even been to Ireland to compete at an international level. It can sometimes mean that I am away from home for 2-3 days at a time. Not only do I use my Rohan gear for work, walking and travel, but I also show in it too.
I love the fact Rohan clothing is packable and lightweight but best of all it’s easy care, quick drying and crease resistant. It makes life so much easier when you are away from home. Space is always at a premium in the car, and it dispenses with the need to take extra clothing ‘just in case’. My favourites for showing have to be my Travel Linen Trousers, T-plus and Shimmer Shirts. My ‘don’t leave home without them’ items include my Assignment Jacket, Goa Top, Travel Jeans, Microgrid Hoody, Striders and Flippy Skirt (remember those?). These items seem to cover most situations and weather conditions. All of these do, of course, fit neatly into my Eagle Creek Tarmac 22 and I just love the Eagle Creek Pack-It-System-everything is organised and to hand.
The highlight of the year for every exhibitor, of course, is Crufts. It is why we attend the Championship Shows all year round. The latest edition to the pack is my home-bred puppy Rocco. I have just started to show him now he is six months old, and I have been lucky enough to qualify him at every show so so far. We are hoping for a bright future ahead!
