Apparently there is a trail, in deepest Surry, where you can now climb the hight of Snowdon and Ben Nevis combined.
That has to be worth following up.
Its called the Greensand Way. The total elevation of the hills along the 55 mile Surrey section of the Greensand Way is 8,166ft compared to Snowdon’s 3,559 ft and Ben Nevis’ 4,409ft. Combined this comes to 7,968ft.
Dubbed one of Britain’s “best kept secrets ” The Greensand Way is located between the North and South Downs, stretching from Haslemere in Surrey to Hamstreet in Kent and sections had been neglected over the last 10 years. After remedial work by Surrey County Council and volunteers working over the last 18 months it now has a new lease of life.
The trail now boasts new signposts, some sections had to be rerouted and walkers can now enjoy the entire 108-mile length across the whole of Surrey and into Kent.
