Rohan Origins

rohan salopette 1972

Another Sneak Preview. Two in one week!

Following on from Thinking on your feet  introducing a new video on our favourite subject.

Produced by John Beatty long time friend of Rohan.
The music is produced by Robin Beatty and features Helen Lancaster on Violin. The melody is based on the Irish folk song ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’, and attempts to describe a strong forward motion and development, whilst being strongly rooted. When the piece begins, the melody is just loosely hinted, and progresses to become more recognisable. The bridge section is used to illustrate the evolution from Rohan’s beginnings through a process of learning and experience to its present day diversity across the world.

Robin Beatty and Helen Lancaster are one part of cinematic folk septet The Old Dance School.
