Rohan to launch Stridefit pilot this September

Walking helps to improve your overall health and fitness and is a great way to lose weight, tone your muscles, strengthen your heart and instill a general feeling of well-being and positive self-esteem. As makers of brilliant outdoors kit we at Rohan thought it was time that we develop an initiative to get outdoors regularly (practice what we preach) and so we prepare to launch Stridefit – part social club, part fitness, part walking group for like minded people.

Stridefit has been developed in partnership with Matt Roberts one of the world’s leading personal trainers. Matt is a big fan of Rohan (he has been a wearer for a number of years) and has worked with us to develop a 12 week Rohan Walks fitness programme for our customers.

We hope that this will genuinely add value to our customer experience by offering a service that is free, easily accessible, an opportunity to meet likeminded people and is a regular route to the outdoors for both experienced and inexperienced walkers.

The Matt Roberts team will be hosting ‘diagnostic days’ at four Rohan shops armed with digital foot-scanners, physio tests & a wealth of advice. This is a chance to get tailored advice about niggles, previous injuries & training tips.

Stridefit Diagnostic days will take place as follows:

 

The Rohan Stridefit programme will roll out over 12 weeks:

  • Week 1 – Mobility and strength testing with walk
  • Week 2-4 – Warm up, strength work and fitness walk
  • Week 5-9 – Warm up, fitness walk, combined with strength intervals
  • Week 10-12 – Warm up, strength circuit and fitness walk
