Sail your own boat?
Fancy being part of something different?
Sail boat needed for lift across the English Channel to Zeebrugge in Belgium preferably between the 8th -14th August but location and dates flexible.
The Clean Europe Expedition – We all know that the world doesn’t have an unlimited supply of resources, but exactly how deep is our dependency. In August 2011, Sam and Faith Martin will travel across Europe attempting to achieve climate neutrality in an effort to see if its possible to travel without leaving a carbon footprint.
The expedition’s major aim is to establish if it is possible to “See the sights and Save the planet”. With this in mind they will be documenting there green house gas (GHG) emissions from the outset; to reduce there emissions as much as possible they will cycle most of the trip. When this is not possible they will endeavour to find the most environmentally friendly option available.
The trip will begin in England, crossing the Channel to Belgium (preferably by sail boat) into Luxembourg then follow the Moselle River through Germany then the Czech Republic. Crossing the Tatra Mountains and traversing Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. From here we plan to cross the Gulf of Finland and then through Finland into Lapland up to Nordkapp at Norway’s peak (well into the Arctic circle) and through Norway, allowing us to look at climate change in action through Norway’s glaciers, before returning to England.
