Sharon, Jane, Mandy, Laura, Adrian, Beverley and Emily climbed Snowdon
The Customer Service team – that’s Sharon, Jane, Mandy, Laura, Adrian, Beverley and Emily climbed Snowdon at the weekend. We were accompanied by Alan Ward, an accomplished International Mountain leader.
The weekend started on Friday afternoon with a walk around Llyn Idwal that lies within the Cwm Idwal in the Glyderau Mountains of Snowdonia.
It’s a walk that took us approximately two hours. The route we choose was 4.01 km. It was a bit windy at times but we were very fortunate with the weather for mid November.
Saturday we all left the Old Rectory where we were staying in Trefriw at 7.30am to get to the carpark in Snowdon nice and early, as we knew it can get very busy.
From the Pen-Y-Pass car park we took the Pyg track to the summit. We started off in rain and hail, under a magnificent rainbow. It got warmer further on until we neared the top. It felt brilliant when we made it to the summit, even if we were a little disappointed that the café was closed. We had all been looking forward to a nice cup of tea/hot chocolate! It took us 3.5 hours in total to reach the summit. We came back down via the Miners Track taking 2.5 hours.
Not too shabby for weekday desk jockeys!
We observed different variations of clothing being worn by others making the journey. The majority were suitably attired, but we did see some less well prepared. This really isn’t the place for making a fashion statement. We all felt that the Rohan clothing we wore gave us complete protection for the variations in temperature and exertion we experienced. We layered for ultimate comfort.
Some of the items of Rohan clothing worn included: Rohan Pinnacle and Mountain Guide waterproof jackets, Microrib Stowaway fleece jackets, Range Finder fleece (worn by Laura who feels the cold normally), Merino Tops long and short sleeved, Basic T long sleeved, Buffs and Cool and Cold socks.
If you want to know more about any of the items worn and their performance please give us a call on 0870 840 1411 or email us at email@example.com
Sunday – Not such an early start. We were out at 8.30am to walk around Myndd Devlyn which included Llyn Crafnant Reservoir and Llyn Geirionydd.
We all had a brilliant time and really appreciated the opportunity to get together as a team. It’s so much easier to share the experiences with each other and our customers.
