Everest – The Final Summit

Everest – The Final Summit Thursday 14th October at 7pm

Following on from the successful Sam Oakes presentation on Thursday 9th September, Rohan Harrogate would now like to make you aware of the following event which you might find enjoyable.

Retired fire officer, Tim Ralph, has had many active hobbies during his life, rugby union, white water rafting, mountain biking and squash, but his passion for years has been rock climbing. Since retiring from the Fire Service he has climbed in many remote parts of the world. Among the mountains he has climbed are the highest on each of the seven continents.

On May 23rd this year he summited Everest from the South Col. Having summited, Tim became the oldest British Seven Summiteer. Having climbed Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Aconcagua, Denali, Carstensz Pyramid, Kosciuszko, and Vinson. Yes, you may have noticed that there are eight ‘Seven summits’ listed. There is a debate as to which is the Australasian summit, so Tim decided to summit both Carstensz Pyramid and Kosi.

Tim will be giving a visual presentation of his adventures on Everest. This talk, EVEREST – THE FINAL SUMMIT will be held at the Harrogate Climbing Centre, Hornbeam Park Ave., HG2 8QT. on Thursday 14th October at 7PM. Refreshments will be available from Indulge. Tickets; £5 available from the Rohan Harrogate. Tel. No. 01423 508766, 21 Station Square, Harrogate HG1 1SY. Tickets are limited to 100, so please contact us early to avoid disappointment.

Tim says, ‘I have been fortunate and privileged to have been able to climb so many beautiful mountains. There will be many who, for numerous reasons will be unable to do so and others who may be thinking of putting on their boots and crampons and having a go. I would like to share my experiences both with those who have no intensions of leaving British shores and those who have incurable ‘itchy feet’. I look forward to seeing you on the 14th October’.
